Hi everyone!

We have been dancing and singing in prepartaion for the school play! The kids look like this:

They have been practising the final song of the play and if they wish to, they can listen to it here.

It hasn't all been "Broadway", we've also been working on new vocabulary "rooms of the house"

The kids made a lovely house out of construction paper.

Then, we learnt about furniture:

Last but not least, we have finished the
programme. The kids know all the 42 sounds and will very soon start reading books. They'll be able to read by using all the strategies learnt during the programme. We are very anxious.

Tuesday 1 August 2017

We are currently working on and revising ACTION VERBS:

and working on the structure of CAN and CAN'T.

Last but not least, we are learnign the last group of sounds from Jolly Phonics. Not long 'till our Jolly Phonics party!

This month we'll be focusing mainly on the school play.

It would be of great help, if you could practise with your child his/her line.

See you soon!

Bye Bye!!

Hi!!! After a long month revising for the mid-term exams and the winter holidays, we are back and ready for new things.

We'll keep you posted on the latest things shortly this week.

See you soon!

Tuesday 30 May 2017

Good morning!!!

This is what we've been up to lately.
We finished working on group n° 3 from Jolly Phonics and have already started with group n° 4.

/b/ as in BAT - BUS - BED - BAG

/ai/ as in TRAIN - PAINT - RAIN - SNAIL

and /oa/ as in GOAT - BOAT - SOAP - COAT

We have been working a lot with the Jolly Phonics programme.

We started a new unit on food. We have learnt the names for BREAKFAST FOOD

We have been practising recognition of food vocabulary by looking at pictures and reading their names. Currently we are learning about
UNHEALTHY FOOD

and HEALTHY FOOD

We are very proud because the kids are learning a lot and are making a big effort. Well done!

Tricky words are those words which cannot be sounded out correctly with the sounds we have been learning. We practised reading and writing them correctly:

I - HE - SHE - THE - ARE - IS

Last but not least, ArtSpot, the educational theater, performed at school "80 days around the world". The children absolutely loved it. Stay tuned for some pictures on the PHOTOS section.

Thursday 27 April 2017

Sorry for not updating our blog sooner, we are exhausted from the two busy weeks we had...

We want to start by thanking everyone for cooperating with our FRUIT PROJECT. It was great fun and we learnt a lot from the experience.

Ok, now it's time for us to tell you about our eventful weeks...

We learnt/revised some new vocabulary: FRUITS!

We made a beautiful fruit crown (you can check our photo section) and we ate some delicious fruit.

We also invited Florencia Casalia, the school's nutritionist, to tell us all about the properties of fruit.

After that talk it was our turn to play nutritionists, so we had to think about making fruit more attractive for children. We came up with some great ideas such as...
FRUIT POPSICLE

FRUIT KABOBS

FRUIT SALAD
FRUIT JUICE

On the final stage of our project, we decided to share with some friends in our school community our knowledge about fruit and some delicious fresh juice, but for that we needed menus for our guests, posters and since we were going to play waiters and waitresses we had to learn and practice some phrases such as "Welcome" "Come, please sit down" " Here's your menu" "What would you like to drink?" " What can I get you?"
Forms IV and V came to visit, they were awesome guests, they liked the juice and they gave us some interesting feedback.

Last but not least, we learnt two new sounds:

/m/ as in MOM, MOUSE AND MAT

and /d/ as in DOG, DUCK and RED

We had so much fun these past weeks! WELL DONE EVERYONE!! You were all wonderful waiters and waitresses.

Have a happy long weekend!
and...
